A Valentine Is Nothing Like
A Valentine is nothing like
A chocolate or a rose.
For in a week these shall be gone,
But Valentines remain.

If love were always sweet to tongue
Or fragrant to the nose,
Each day would be like Valentine's,
And we would go insane.

A Valentine just hangs around
Waiting to be kissed
Long after special days have passed
And every days are here.

So one is wise to choose one well
And chocolates to resist.
For in the midst of mania
It's nice to have one near.

Although Our Love Is Over, It Remains
Although our love is over, it remains
An unfrequented garden in my heart,
Its beauty quite inseparable from pain,
A wilderness where once was willful art.

I hope a little piece of you is still
Reserved for me, a place you may not go,
But where my room, untenanted, can fill
A moment with my music, sweet and slow.

There are no wishes like a former lover's
That from the dark, repentant night must shine.
And so though we have both moved on to others,

Blessings are the things we take for granted.
Each holiday we notice what we see.
Most know the Earth is utterly enchanted
Yet walk through life and love mechanically.
Valuing one's gifts takes resolution
After days and nights of fantasy.
Love brings the sweet relief of absolution,
Enveloping our hesitance in need.
No touch inspires so swift a revolution,
Transforming all the hieroglyphs we read.
In your love is the charity of spring,
Nor self-obsessed nor blinded by some creed,
Embracing the grey dawns that blessings bring

History of Valentine's Day

St Valentine's Day, holiday dedicated to lovers. It is celebrated on February 14 by the custom of sending greeting cards or gifts to express affection to a chosen partner. The cards, known as valentines, are generally sent anonymously and are often designed with hearts to symbolize love. The holiday probably derives from the ancient Roman feast of Lupercalis (February 15). Originally a festival for shepherds, it was celebrated in honour of Faunus. Its primary purpose was to secure fertility for the fields, the flocks, and the shepherds themselves. The festival gradually became associated with the feast day (February 14) of two Roman martyrs, both named St Valentine, who lived in the 3rd century, but about whom nothing specific is known. St Valentine has traditionally been regarded as the patron saint of lovers. An early reference is found in the works of Chaucer, who states that birds pair on St Valentine’s Day. The practice of calling oneself a “valentine” and asking one’s beloved to be the same, is referred to in the Paston Letters, the largest surviving collection of 15th-century English correspondence written by the Paston family and their neighbours in Norfolk.

Now, do you want to have a great, romantic, and unforgetable valentine's day? Well, that's not hard to follow. Your dreams will be come true. Check out these facts:

When you have a relationship with someone, this special moment is very important. Is it? Yeah, of course. Both of you should remember the day of Valentine. Your valentine's celebration will make your relationship getting better and deeper. Trust me. At least, that is a great moment to say how much you love him or her and also how important he or she is in your life. Yep, it's annually on February 14th. Have a more romantic date and also dinner on that day. It doesn't have to be luxurious. The important thing is at that day, both of you and your couple's feeling should get stronger and remember to make this situation as fun as possible. But do not force yourself to make or propose something which is impossible. For ex: You don't have so much money, then you borrow money from your friends or even from a bank just to plan for the most luxurious valentine's day with your couple in some expensive restaurants.

1. Prepare some gift for your couple. Make sure that she's gonna like that gift. I mean, what you
give for her is not something that she hates.

In 6th century BC., the renowned lyric poet Anacreon of Greece sang that healing rose balm calms the heart that beats in agony.According to 17th century pharmacologist N. Culpeper, "dried red rose petals in tincture or powder form will relieve heavy menstruation, hematemesis and other bleedings. Rose infusions in wine relieve headaches, toothaches, pain of the eyes, ears, throat and gums. It also cures pain in the abdomen and the uterus." The remedial powers of the rose were also widely known in Asia. In the oldest known Chinese Book of Medicinal Plants, roses are deemed "effective for dropsy and constipation". In recent years, our research proved that the rose flower contains Vitamin A, C and P and has medicinal effects such as relieving stress-induced fatigue, stiff shoulders, insomnia, stomachache and nervousness. And aside from all its medicinal effects, a bouquet of roses can certainly ease a stressful day and make your life much brighter.

b. Chocolate

Chocolate is also a good pick for her. Why? Well, every valentine is really identic with
chocolate. And believe it or not, based on research chocolate can make your heart bloomy.

Try to pack the chocolate well and decorate it with any ribbon. That would be so romantic and fascinating. But the best thing is you have to pick " a good quality chocolate ". Because she's gonna melt as the chocolate melts in her mouth.

c. Jewellery
Jewellery is a very special gift. You know, because the prize isn't cheap. But, you know what,
some woman like something expensive and priceless. Just think, jewelerry is usually
connected with something precious. And just the same like what her means to you : precious.
But anyway, you don't have to find the most expensive one. Just try to find something
"unique". Maybe unique from its shape, color, or maybe package. What you have to do is find
out what kind of jewellery that she like. Ex: bracelet, necklace, pendant, earrings, or watch.

d. Dolls
Well, maybe not all of the girls or woman like to have a doll. But some of the cute girls do. Especially those who like "cute things". You may plan to give her a cute teddy bear or pinky valentine cushion to show how romantic you are and how cute is your girl. Be selective to choose a cute one and make sure that she is gonna like it.

e. Valentine's Card
Valentine's card is something simple, but unfortunately your greeting of "Happy Valentine's Day" to your couple is so important for her. Please pick the most unique and romantic card which is sold in a shop or from the internet. (you may also send that e-card through e-mail). What kind of unique? Hmmm... unique pictures, caption, and so the greeting that you're written on. Make sure what you write is something appropriate with her. You don't have to make an exaggeration words, but the praise is something important. Just write it honestly from the bottom of your heart. But remember, don't make her feel fed up about you. It's just make your relationship getting worse.

f. Poem
Write your own love and romantic poem for her. Be creative when you write it. You can make a parable to describe how much you love and adore her. You can read that poem in front of her when both of you have a chandlelight dinner on valentine's day together. Wait for the right moment when you want to read it. Don't forget to use your romantic style when you read it. This gonna be the most romantic moment for both of you and your couple. These are some examples of love poetry...

Then, if your sweetheart is a man, you may give him:
a. Strip chocolate
Do you think that man do not like to eat chocolate and also receive a chocolate from a girl on valentine's day? No, they do like it. Strip chocolate is every man's romantic Valentine (or every day) dream. Needs no explanation. In Japan, the girl usually give a chocolate to a boy that she love on February 14th. Then, when the boy also like the girl, they're gonna reply the gift by giving a chocolate on March 14th (it's called white day). Just try to wipe the smile off his face with this unique surprise ... You may also cook and modify your own chocolate for him. Make sure that he will love the taste. But when he really love you, it's not important how sweet or delicious is it, but the important thing is the love that you've given to him when you made that chocolate in your own effort. It doesn't have to be chocolate strip. You can give him a brownie or chocolate ice cream which made by yourself. Frozen Chocolate Mousse

1 cup milk
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon gelatin
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pint heavy cream -- whipped
1. In top of double boiler or over low heat cook the milk, chocolate, sugar,and gelatin. Stir frequently.
2. When chocolate is melted and all is combined, beat with whisk untilsmooth and well blended.
3. Chill until thick, then add vanilla and beat until light.
4. Whip the cream until soft peaks form, then fold gently into chocolatemixture.
5. Place in shallow pan and freeze until firm.
Yield: 1 quart. Will serve 4-8 people.

Southwestern Fiesta Hot Chocolate

1/2 cup cocoa
1 tablespoon flour -- unbleached
1/4 cup dark brown sugar -- packed
4 cups milk
3 cloves -- whole1 cinnamon sticks -- broken
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanillawhipped cream
4 cinnamon sticks
Mix cocoa and flour in 2-quart saucepan. Stir in brown sugar, milk, cloves,and 1 stick cinnamon. Heat just to boiling over medium heat, stirringconstantly; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes (DO NOT boil).Remove from heat; remove cloves and cinnamon.Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat with wire whisk or hand mixer untilfoamy.
Pour into 4 cups or mugs. Serve with whipped cream and cinnamon sticks

Mousse Chocolate with Chocolate Chips

Ingredients:
250 gr dark cooking chocolate
4 egg yolks
250 ml vanilla ice cream
3 white eggs, mix stiff
100 gr chocolate milk powder, dissolved with 50 ml water
100 gr chocolate chips

Directions:
Melt chocolate into a pan, then add egg yolks, stirred until softly mixed. Remove.
Add vanilla ice cream into chocolate liquid, mix with ballon whisk until softly mixed.
Add white eggs which have been stiffly mixed, then mix it again until soft. Pour chocolate chips, stirred.
Pour into a bowl, then keep it cool in the fridge for 3 hours.
Serve in glasses while cool. Serves 6.

b. Cute romantic tie
Man also like a romantic and cute things, especially when they get that stuff from their girl. Guess why? Because it will reminds him on his girlfriend's cute love for him. When he really love and appreciate you, he will wear that cute romantic tie tomorrow by the time you meet him again.

c. Cute frame picture
Try to pick the cutest and most unique frame picture for him. You may also add a picture of you and him together. This frame picture will make him thinking of you always, everyday, and everynight when he see it hanging or put on his room.
